Cincy earns $16MM in media mentions during World Cup bidding process

The 2026 Cincy Local Organizing Committee continues to work with FIFA and US Soccer officials on its bid to become a Host City for matches in 2026.

Over the past year, Cincinnati has been mentioned in thousands of news stories related to the FIFA bidding process.

Game Day, a Cincinnati-based media and marketing firm, tracked the media mentions in 2021 for the 2026 Cincy LOC.

The results are impressive with 397 million total impressions with an earned media value of $16.3 million.

“In 2021, Cincinnati was featured in thousands of stories alongside other great American cities who are bidding to host 2026 FIFA World Cup in Cincinnati,” said Jackie Reau, CEO of Game Day. “The result of this media coverage was $16 million dollars or the amount of what the media placements would have cost.”

The official announcement of Host Cities for 2026 FIFA World Cup will be made this year, according to FIFA officials.
